Expanding Support for Survivors Through Community Partnership

We are proud to share that Project R.E.S.T. has been awarded a 2026–2028 United Way of the Piedmont Community Investment grant. This meaningful investment will help support and strengthen our Domestic Violence Advocacy and Shelter programs serving women and families across Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties.

This grant represents partnership, shared values, and a collective commitment to ensuring that every person in our community has the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and empowered.

Strengthening Support for Survivors

Project R.E.S.T. exists to provide safety, advocacy, and hope for women and children impacted by domestic violence. With the support of United Way of the Piedmont, we will continue expanding access to critical services that help survivors navigate crisis, rebuild stability, and move toward long-term independence.

Together, we are working to remove barriers, amplify voices that are too often overlooked, and ensure survivors have the resources they need not just to survive, but also flourish.

About United Way of the Piedmont

For nearly 90 years, United Way of the Piedmont has united nonprofits, businesses, and community members to tackle the most pressing challenges facing our region. Their mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, and their work goes beyond temporary solutions to create lasting, systemic change.

Guided by values of excellence, inclusion, innovation, integrity, and leadership, United Way of the Piedmont brings people together to build stronger, healthier communities where opportunity is accessible to all.

Creating Impact Together

United Way of the Piedmont focuses its work across four key impact areas:

  • Community Resiliency – Helping individuals and families respond to crisis through tools like the 211 helpline and disaster relief efforts.

  • Financial Security – Supporting households in securing stable employment, meeting basic needs, and building long-term financial stability.

  • Healthy Community – Connecting people to safe environments, healthcare, mental health services, and essential resources.

  • Youth Opportunity – Expanding access to education and youth programs that support lifelong success.

By bringing partners together across the region, United Way of the Piedmont helps create solutions that are collaborative, responsive, and deeply rooted in community needs.
