LEGAL ADVOCACY SERVICES
Project R.E.S.T.
Legal Advocacy Services Program
At Project R.E.S.T., we understand the unique challenges that victims of intimate partner violence face when navigating the legal system. Our Legal Advocacy Services Program is here to offer support, guidance, and protection every step of the way—completely free of charge.
Free Legal Consultations
Our program offers free legal consultations to help victims understand their legal rights and options. Whether you are married, have children with your abuser, or simply need advice on legal separation, our attorneys can provide you with the guidance you need to make informed decisions. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can schedule an appointment to discuss your situation privately.
Orders of Protection and Restraining Orders
If you require an Order of Protection or a restraining order to keep your abuser away, our Legal Advocacy Services team can assist. We will provide you with an attorney to represent you in court and ensure your rights are upheld throughout the process.
Safety Planning and Emergency Shelter
If you are in immediate danger, our Court Advocate will work with you to develop a safety plan that prioritizes your well-being. While the court processes your Order of Protection or restraining order, you may also be assessed for placement in our emergency domestic violence shelter, where you can stay until it’s safe to return home.
Our highly experienced and compassionate team consists of:
Managing Attorney
Provides legal expertise and represents victims in court.
Domestic Violence Paralegal
Assists with document preparation and legal research.
Bilingual Court Advocate
Provides translation and cultural understanding to victims.
Legal Assistant
Ensures all legal procedures are handled efficiently and with care.
