Meet Project R.E.S.T.'s

President & CEO, Krystal Watson

Krystal is the President and CEO of Project R.E.S.T. and her role is to provide overall management and leadership to all Project R.E.S.T. initiatives and activities. Krystal previously worked as a Staff Attorney at Project R.E.S.T. while operating her law practice, K. LAWS, LLC, a Real Estate, Family Law, and Estate Planning law firm she founded in 2020.

Krystal obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Norfolk State University and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Krystal is licensed to practice law in both South Carolina and Michigan.

Prior to opening her law practice, K. LAWS, LLC, Krystal served as the Managing Attorney at South Carolina Legal Services, Inc. in Spartanburg, and Rock Hill. As a civil legal aid attorney, Krystal devoted her legal career to representing low-income families, victims of domestic violence and senior citizens in civil matters such as divorces, custody disputes, adoptions, as well as defending evictions, foreclosures, and other property disputes.

Over the years, Krystal has participated in various legal clinics and speaking presentations on legal issues such as divorce, elder abuse, domestic violence and fair housing at local senior citizen homes, domestic violence shelters as well as organizational fairs and panel presentations throughout the community.

Krystal currently serves on the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors, At-Large Member, and has served on the SC Bar House of Delegates, for the 7th Circuit, since 2020.

Laurel Greene

As Vice President of Finance and Administration, Laurel oversees the financial operations of the agency and the fiscal administration of approximately 30 federal, state and local grants. Her leadership guides the administrative team in providing critical support to our direct services staff by providing first response to the 24-hour crisis line, community education and outreach presentations, and facilities and operational support to our main office and shelter locations.

Laurel earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Alabama in 1991 and moved to South Carolina to begin her career as an international accountant working for Michelin North America. She came to Project R.E.S.T. as a new mom looking for part-time work that would allow her to spend more time raising her children. That was 26 years ago!

Laurel has spent her career working to promote sound financial practices and internal controls to establish Project R.E.S.T. as a premier agency in the state when it comes to financial policies and practices. She has gained a reputation as a well versed non-profit accountant and enjoys sharing her experience and expertise with other local agencies.

Laurel and her husband, Patrick have two grown children and are enjoying their “empty nesting” years spending time outdoors. Laurel also enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and painting.

Elizabeth Pratt, M.Div., Ed.S., LMFT, LMFT-S, VSP, began her professional career as a chaplain and pastor in New Haven, CT. In 1989, she moved to SC, serving as a pastor for 8 years before becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Elizabeth served as Assistant Clinical Director of WestGate Family Therapy Training Institute (now EMERGE) until 2002, when she joined the clinical staff at SAFE Homes-Rape Crisis Coalition. In 2006, Elizabeth became Clinical Director and received licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor. Elizabeth began serving as Project R.E.S.T.’s Vice President of Clinical and Trauma-Informed Services in January 2024.

Tiffany Beeks is a Director of Clinical Services at Project R.E.S.T. and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Limestone College ('83). She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Columbia International University ('03).

After completing her internship at Project R.E.S.T. f/k/a SAFE Homes, she was hired to become part of the Therapy Team. Since being hired in 2003, she has also served as an adult therapist at the Shelter and Main Office, Outreach Therapist, and Adult Coordinator for Clinical Services.

Angela Bernardo, Director of Emergency Domestic Violence Shelter Operations at Project R.E.S.T., oversees the daily living needs and overall operations of the Emergency Shelter. This includes supervision of the shelter advocates who work directly with our residents and clients. Angela has a passion for creating a warm and welcoming environment that ensures all essential needs are met, as well as advocating for and spearheading improvements to empower our residents. Angela received her degree in Legal Administration from Michigan and has 15 years of management experience. Prior to this role, she served as the Facilities & Residential Support Supervisor with Project R.E.S.T.

Angela Winter is the Director of Advocacy Services at Project R.E.S.T. where she specializes in coordinating, maintaining, managing, and enhancing the advocacy program. She also supervises advocates as they work directly with victims, and she identifies and develops opportunities to increase collaboration, internally with other programs, and externally with other service providers.

After graduating with a degree in Psychology from Bucknell University, Angela formed and operated a boutique bakery for 16 years. A family move to Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 2023 provided her with the opportunity to return to working in public service.

In her free time, Angela enjoys attending sporting events with her husband and three children. She is an avid runner and is still able to throw together a pretty mean cupcake.

Nate Molle is the Managing Attorney for the Project R.E.S.T. Legal Advocacy Program. His role focuses on legal representation through the Order of Protection or Restraining Order process in Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union Counties. He joined Project REST in 2024.

Prior to joining the team at Project R.E.S.T., Nate was a staff attorney with South Carolina Legal Services. At Legal Services, he handled cases in areas such as bankruptcy, housing law, employment discrimination, and family law. This broad scope of experience allows him to provide a more wholistic approach to the legal needs of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in our community.
